What do the different student group categories mean?

Category I

  • Allowed to submit a formalized budget semesterly and appeal for additional funds through the semester in the form of appeals.
  • Apply for speaker requests.
  • Can receive the following resources:
    • Basic office supplies.
    • Copy Code
    • Mailbox in the DUC
    • Meeting space
    • Office space
    • Telephone line
    • Web space and e-mail account
    • Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy

Category II

  • Allow to submit a formalized budget (max of $500) semesterly to the Budget Committee.
  • Apply for speaker requests.
  • Can receive the following resources:
    • Basic office supplies.
    • Copy Code
    • Mailbox in the DUC
    • Meeting space
    • Office space
    • Telephone line
    • Web space and e-mail account
    • Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy

    Category III

  • Is a permanent status
  • Not eligible for any funding. Still entitled to all benefits of being a Student Union recognized group.
  • Can receive the following resources:
    • Basic office supplies.
    • Copy Code
    • Mailbox in the DUC
    • Meeting space
    • Office space
    • Telephone line
    • Web space and e-mail account
    • Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy
