Category I

• Allowed to submit a formalized budget semesterly and appeal for additional funds through the semester in the form of appeals.
• Apply for speaker requests.
• Can receive the following resources:
• Basic office supplies.
• Copy Code
• Mailbox in the DUC
• Meeting space
• Office space
• Telephone line
• Web space and e-mail account
• Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy

Category II

Allow to submit a formalized budget (max of $500) semesterly to the Budget Committee.

Apply for speaker requests.

Can receive the following resources:

• Copy Code
• Mailbox in the DUC
• Meeting space
• Office space
• Telephone line
• Web space and e-mail account
• Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy

Category III

Is a permanent status

Not eligible for any funding. Still entitled to all benefits of being a Student Union recognized group.

• Mailbox in the DUC
• Meeting space
• Office space
• Telephone line
• Web space and e-mail account
• Utilize posting privileges in compliance with the University's posting policy

Category student groups receive semesterly allocations from the Budget Committee based on budgets they submit. Additionally Category I and Category II student groups can appeal to Treasury for additional funds.

Yes. Student Union has elections several times a year. If you lose one election, you can always run again in the next one. Additionally, you do not have to be elected to participate in Student Union. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact the chair of the Recruitment and Retention committee at administration@su.wustl.edu

Student Union recognized groups have access to the following benefits:

• Copy code to use SU copy machines
• Mailbox in Danforth University Center
• Posting privileges in accordance with the University Posting Policy
• @su.wustl.edu email account
• Webspace and .wustl.edu subdomain name
• OSA, faculty or staff advisor
• Office space
• Basic office supplies
• Meeting space
• Long term storage

A student group is an organization that aims to raise awareness of and/or facilitate the interaction in a unique area for Washington University undergraduate students. Student Union recognized groups must have at least 51 percent of their membership be comprised of undergraduate students.

Reservations can be made by going to the new reservation site.

Student Union recognized groups can receive office space upon approval from the Student Group Activities Committee. Interested groups should fill out the Office Space Application.
